we currently have 5 exciting initiatives:
 

1.  World Peace Partners and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, alongside new partners, is developing a new program called adventures in Human Rights and Response-Abilities, a transformational and inspirational educational experience intended initially for high school students.  It will evolve over time to include 34,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide who can sponsor students and supervisors to attend this 7 to 14 day adventure program in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Stay tuned for more announcements as this program emerges!

2.  adventures in Global Citizenship summer institute at University of Winnipeg Global College was introduced in August, 2011 in collaboration with Global College, Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Folklorama.  Featuring a 30 student pilot program including 3 credit hours for those who complete this intense 30 hour course and do paper or film production before end of August. This is the first of other courses to come from WPP other 3 university partners as we learn from our experience this year.  (click on Programs for more info)

3.  Seeking support from Rotary Clubs and other organizations for understanding and dissemination of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (click on Publications for more info)  

4. Promoting Rotary Clubs and other organizations celebrating in a meaningful way September 21 as the
international day of peace and having Rotary International support this
worldwide event to inspire and enable peace building and to advance a culture of peace.  Our very own
Leith Robertson leads the organization of 
a Music for Peace event on September 21 at The Forks, Winnipeg

5. WPP is working with UNESCO schools in Manitoba to organize an
International Conference for October 2014, or when the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
opens (whichever is later), for UNESCO students 
from over 20 countries
